Quebecois House Dance and Party October 8th in Portland, OR
Wednesday, September 22, 2010 @5:10:30 PM
On Friday, October 8, we're going to haul the furniture out of my living room, roll up the rug, and have a Quebecois square dance! Lisa Ornstein and friends will provide the music while Suzanne Girardot and friends will call quadrilles, squares, Lancers, and other participatory dances from the Quebec region. It'll be pot-luck for drinks and snacks. This is going to be a fun party! Email me for details if you are in the Portland area and want to attend.

Wow, sounds like a great time . . . wonder how much a plane ticket would cost. ;-)

I so envy that you are actually doing what OT music was designed to do !!! I wish there were more people here that thought in those terms.... we have jams here....but really what they are....is either performance based.....or self-induced trances.....I find it rather odd...that there is so little discussion of playing for dancing, as opposed to playing for .....playing......lol.....You GuYs Go !!! And.....see if you can get some one to video some of it and show us how its done ;-D
