I have an old fiddle in the classifieds for sale. But as I plan on using the $$ to buy an old, inexpensive parlor/blues guitar I thought I'd just see if anyone has a guitar to just trade outright.
I'm looking especially for an old May Bell Slingerland, Kay, Kalamazoo, Stella, etc. Only interested in solid wood guitars and in good structural, playing shape. Don't mind scratches and minor cracks and other cosmetic issues as my fiddle is "aesthetically-challenged" itself. But don't really want something that needs a neck-reset or other major surgery right off the bat.

Mike, have you seen how much Stellas are going for these days, at least from this source: http://www.stellaguitars.com/
Quite a shock, but an interesting site.

Try contacting Todd Cambio: http://www.fraulini.com/ He builds new versions of the old guitars but he might be able to help you find an old one that won't break the bank. I have a '30's, flat-sawn birch Supertone guitar that I use for OT/Blues etc. It is really great!
