Hello,
I have placed an add in the classifieds for Tonerite products. I am opening up discussion here and if I can answer any questions , I'd be happy to. My involvement with Tonerite, is after I learned of the violin models, and seeing their usefulness, I worked with the inventor to develop a model for the mandolin. I play acoustic string instruments, and know about the de-damping process. After using the Tonerite the instruments "open up" and become very responsive. The ToneRite dramatically accelerates the natural play-in process while daily use will maintain an instrument’s developed tone.

Sounds interesting. After reading about it, I still don't know what it is? What is it instilling into the violin soundhole? Power setting...do you plug it in?? Any comments from users?
Thanks!

It seems to be a 'tone generator', I assume the frequenci/es would be optimized for simulating playing.

The Violin model sets on top of the strings at the bridge, and has "feet" which wedge between the strings & bridge. Vibrations transfer through the bridge and into the instrument; just as the strings do when you play. Amplitude and frequency have been optimized It plugs in, has an inline sliding power switch, to vary the amount of vibrations.

One of the prevalent theories is that playing-in(de-damping) an instrument relieves the tensions inherent in all instruments that are new or left fallow.

Relieving tension allows the instrument to vibrate freely. The molecules in the wood -cells are excited, keeping the instrument "alive". As a result, your instrument becomes incredibly responsive, problem notes improve, less bow pressure is required, the sound comes more quickly with less effort and the overall quality of tone improves.
