What a great video all about Ervin T. Rouse! I didn't know all that stuff about him. He could play his fiddle with his feet! Wow! I liked Chubby's version, but Scotty Stoneman is my very favorite! Thanks for sharing that info. OBS first copyright in 1938,

Excellent, one of those songs that just incredibly move me. I went to the Long Beach, WA Bluegrass festival, for an anniversary get away with the Mrs. A band of young guys, Nick Dumas was the fiddler, played it. Amazing how new blood can wring new breaks outta that song and make it special all over again.

Being that I'm from Jacksonville, I found it interesting. Did you also know that Jesse McReynolds wrote the tune 'Dixie Hoedown" while in Jacksonville,FL ?
