Most commercial recordings, especially if they have any Nashville influence, do a half-step up modulation. This has become a cliche of CW production. Personally, unless I was playing with a group that wanted a precise cover of that recording, I wouldn't waste time on the Ab. The real trouble with such arrangements is that the next vocalist will probably want a different set of keys and you are back to square one.
By the way, I think that tune set is copied from a Canadian album called "Cowboy Celtic."

If you really want to do the half step up thing, and there are no singers, starting in A and modulationg to Bb would give you the same effect, but both are relatively easy fiddle keys.
