Doesn't really interfere with reading the forum, but every time I switch pages, like to read a thread or back out to its forum, or the forums, Firefox 3.0.11 loads the content, and then spends forever "looking up wd.sharethis.com..." or some similar message about waiting for sharethis. Happens pretty reliably with every new page view.
It doesn't get in the way, but there is this persistent distracting twirling pulser around the mouse pointer, which goes away with a click of the "stop loading" button. Symptom of something that needs to be worried about? I don't know.

I'm running 3.6.8 on my iMac, so I can't help you with an old version of Firefox. Have you considered updating?

Ehnh. It's not so broken that it really needs fixing. Last few times I've "upgraded," I've lost capability "for my convenience and protection." My impression is that much of web 2.0 is more about monetizing my eyeballs than anything else. Thanks for responding

Might have to do with the version of Firefox, yes. The widget is located on the left side-bar. Mouse over it to see the options for sharing.

You can click on the "Share This" button that M-D mentions on the left side-bar and "opt out".
"Opt out" is in small print at the bottom of the pop-up...
Don't know if opting out will solve your problem, but it's worth a try.

O I see the widget all right. I just opted out before logging in this time, and it is still pulsing away, waiting...
Now shareThis allegedly knows someone at my IP doesn't want their "help" and I still get the popout window when I mouse over the button. Oh well. No huge prob.

Took a day, but I think it worked. Widget gone, twirling pulser is now quiet. tnx!
