Here's an Old Time Version of Black & White Rag that I play pretty true to Kansas Old Time Fiddler Amos Chase's version This seems to be the tune of the week for me and Woodwiz.. I without the double-stops the first time so you can get the notes and then with the double-stops the second time. They are more drones than notes most of the time.[ fiddlehangout.com/myhangout/me...archived=

You mention Amos Chase. I just sent Martin (M-D) a copy of a recording I made when I interviewed him at his house in KA in about 1984. He played a BOATLOAD of fiddle tunes into my microphone! All the more valuable as I hear he is deceased. I don't recall whether he played B&W, though.

How do I add a link to the recording?
woodwiz - Posted - 03/06/2010: 10:11:08
This isn't the only way, but it's an easy way:
First, highlight and copy the URL for the tune from the address bar at the top of the Jukebox.
Then go to your post and click the button at the top with the globe and chain link on it, and you'll get this:
Then paste the address in between:
fiddlehangout.com/myhangout/me...archived=
You can also just type the "url" tags.

Jimmy likes it too! Good that you did the single and double-stop version too.

Sweet !!! The moment you add the double stops is when the true raggyness ( lol...is that a word) shines. I likes it lots !!

Hey , I didn't know you guys played this tune too ... I was playing it the other week on my fishing string banjo .... it came out sounding like an old Edison recording or something .... definetely a tune from the age of black and white silent films .. LOL
